Owww... Why does a wisdom tooth extraction hurt more 3 days later? And why doesn't tylenol do any good whatsoever, since I can't take Vicodin and work/drive/function? Wah!! Also, I am so sick of soup and soft foods.

Weird thing is, my jaw seems to hurt more than the tooth area.

In good news, I just purchased a new Hyundai Elantra. It's lovely!

And I spent the morning cooking 7 cakes. My students better eat them ALL!4 more days of school...

I hope it's not getting infected :( It could just be part of the healing process :\

Are you rinsing with salt water daily? :)

Yeah - my doc said to rinse with salt water about 5-6 times a day so I am. It does numb it a little after.

A friend swears by pineapple juice to numb the area and prevent infection, so I'm gonna get some tomorrow to drink during the week.

I have TMJ, so that may be where the jaw pain is coming from. I'm sure having my jaw open while the dentist worked for an hour is going to make my jaw sore for awhile.

Thanks for your help :)

hope you feel better

If it doesn´t feel better soon, go back to the dentist. When my sister got her wisdom teeth out they forgot to remove the packing afterwards.

I remember having bad pain for about 7 days, but I was in bad shape going in, so my recovery was protracted. Ice packs on my cheek helped to numb it a bit, too.
