Quick update - they sent Justin home last night! On his 18th birthday!

Partly because the danger has passed and all he needs now is physical therapy, and partly because his insurance wouldn't cover the hospital stay even a day longer @_@

He's glad to be home, although the doorbell never stops ringing and the constant visitors wear him out.

He is having some flashes from the accident and panicing over the amount of school he is missing. He's scared he won't graduate because the doctor won't let him go back to school for at least a month, but he may have a tutor coming in a few weeks. My sister is thinking about finding him a therapist for a little while to help him deal with the accident, which I think can't hurt.

Thank you again for all your healing thoughts! They've worked a miracle :)

Yay! That is such good news.

As to school. Maybe he can get his lesson assignments and do them at home?

Nope. The doctor doesn't even want him to READ. No strenuous mental activity of any kind. He's not even allowed to read or play music for now.

30 days until he can do ANY schoolwork. I have students who would pay good money for that, but he is not that kind of kid ;)

Seriously, he's worried about not being able to get scholarships, and he really needs them. It will be hard for a while.

But he is home. A week ago right now our lives were hell and my sister was being told her child would be dead in less than 24 hours. Life is strange sometimes, and wonderful.

Sorry I didn´t write sooner. I haven´t been on livejournal for sooo long. I was worried to read the first posts about the accident, but am sooo glad everything came out well.
