Sep. 10th, 2008 11:34 pmFirst, the good thing: I went with Akane to see the play Mama Mia and LOVED it! Despite the loud insane women next to us who danced and sang along.
Second is the bad, no charges have been filed against the drunk driver that nearly killed my nephew, other than DWI, which he apparently had a history of. Oh, and he isn't a teenager, he is 30 years old and is now telling anyone who will listen in their small town that JUSTIN must have been drinking, the accident was his fault, and that he came on his side of the road. Until the police finish the investigation and charge him, my sis can't do anything to dispute him. Who knows why this is taking so long, since the day after the accident I went to the scene and could clearly track the skid marks from the opposite side of the road into Justin's car on the far right, leading into the brick wall, with the van on the inside.
Too bad there are no witnesses to the accident, although there are plenty to say that they saw Justin leave the school and his doctors have bloodwork that proves no BAC (duh. He only left a football game where he was in marching band 5 minutes before).
Suffice to say, it is taking all my control not to go do something bad to this prick now that I know who he is. I would too, if I didn't think it would be assumed that my sis or BIL did it. The b*stard could have killed two good young men and nothing is going to happen or stop him from doing it again.
Justin is still having some small problems with his leg and speech. Still some brain damage as well. His stiches come out tomorrow though.
