Stop the world, I want to get off.
Feb. 15th, 2009 11:02 amCrazy week. I stayed at work until 8p.m. for two nights in a row to help my studnet organization prepare for fundraising. The school's electronic gradebook went down so no teachers could enter grades or attendence the entire week, and progress report grades were due. But the big drama was my car.
Back in May I posted about my new Hyundai Elantra. Within a month, it was in the shop getting the fuel pump replaced after dying on a busy highway, but since then it has been fine. Friday morning it began acting odd, so I took it back to the dealer, who checked it and assured me nothing was wrong with it.
Friday night I was driving on a busy highway waiting for a train to cross, when the engine light popped up, the lights dimmed and it stalled. I made it across the railroad tracks, but was still 15 minutes from home on a new feeder road. It stalled twice before I pulled into the only open business on the road, a coffee shop - where I was able to use a phone since my cellphone was not with me. Note that this was only Fox and myself, since Tomu was at home asleep while we went out to eat and shopped.
I was BEYOND PO'ed at the service center and still am. Even more so when I picked it up yesterday and they still aren't sure what's wrong with it, but have ordered a part that won't be in until Tuesday. Then refuse to lend me a rental car, so I took my car back for now. Obviously I will have my cell with me at all times.
Valentine's Day was a little better. Mom babysat so Tomu and I could go to Macaroni Grill (my new fav) then we went back to our place for champagne, cheesecake and other fun stuff.
Conference tomorrow, then Tuesday I'm meeting to plan a presentation for the Staff Development on Friday, and I'm still trying to figure out more fundraising for my students next week since the national organization uped the annual dues. I don't think I'll have any art posted for awhile... Just too busy.
Oh yeah - and Tomu starts his new job Tuesday and is extremely nervous. Life is crazy at the moment.
