I completely understand your sorrow. I buried my dog Blue just over a month ago. She was almost seventeen! And she was very healthy until her last month or so, but got to the point where she couldn't even stand up by herself, or stay standing once I got her up. I miss her SO much. She was a friend and confidante...my soulmate. I put flowers on her grave every few days, and talk to her as if she's there. I really do feel I carry part of her with me always. At any rate, here's a warm hug for you. Your Cricket sounds like he was a dear friend, and I wish I could've met him. If there's an afterlife, maybe he's hanging out with Blue, who was always great with the cats. Your memories will keep Cricket with you forever, too. You have my deepest sympathy.
