(no subject)

Well, it figures. I make a whiny post, so of course things got worse.

Fox has been running a high fever. He's sad and miserable and I'm exhausted. He woke crying and shaking and all he would say is "I'm so cold!" It's taken a warm bath, a dose of Tylenol that he promptly projectile vomited along with what little fluid I could get down him, and another warm bath to finally give him some relief. He's still running a fever of 102.5 F, but that is a big improvement over the 104 degrees he was registering earlier.

I'm gonna go carry him to bed now. I think about our ancestors (ancestresses?) who lost children to illness so often and I wonder how they survived it. At least I know we can always head for the emergency room.

Please let him get some relief now...

No wonder Fox was up all night - He had a bad case of strep throat. He also had to get a shot, which just broke his heart. Luckily some bribery took care of that. He is now the proud owner of a new Power Rangers action figure.

Just spent over $150 between meds and doctor visit. Also, I found out at least 3 nearby churches offer couples' counseling, so even though Tomu and I aren't all that Christian, we'll be going I think. I need some support, and I think he will take the chance on it. We've got to do something, because I've loved the guy since I was 18 years old and I'm not about to give up now.

That said, I love the 19 year old boy I fell in love with so much more than the man he has become. What happened to the sweet, easy going guy I met 13 years ago? I've changed as well, so we better learn to like each other a bit more again. Every now and then I get a glimpse of him and remember why I'm still here.

Don't think it is just our marriage - life is just more than I can bear lately. I may need to see a doctor about treatment for depression and managing my ADD as well. It can't hurt.
