2 1/2 more days of school until vacation! Yah!
But how can it be Christmas next week? We don't even have our tree up yet!

Currently I'm working on my HPNextGenFest artwork, but it is taking forever. I started out with one pairing, and I'm now on a totally different one. I have a feeling I won't be happy with whatever I produce. *sigh*

On a more serious note:

I spent a lot of time hugging Fox tonight, after reading this: http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/12/16/walsh.case.closed/index.html

I'm so glad there is some closure in the Adam Walsh case, but so sad it ever happened. I was almost exactly his age when he died, and I still remember suddenly not being allowed to play in the toy section while mom shopped anymore, and my mom suddenly just...hovering constantly.

Since then, I've read many of John Walsh's books, and I'm always shocked by the depravity of human beings who can hurt or kill children. I can't imagine how horrific it must have been for them to face Adam's murderer as he gloated about the horrible way their son died, the way John Walsh did years later. I can't express how much I admire his parents for being able to go on after such a horrendous event...If something like that happened to Fox, I literally think I would throw myself off a bridge...

Fox is nearly the age Adam was when he was murdered. If he had lived Adam would be a year older than me now. His death changed so much about the way missing children cases are handled...

Yet isn't it sad that one of the things that made this case exceptional was the fact that the boy wasn't murdered by his own family?

I hope the case closing gives the Walsh family some peace.
