I love summer...
Jun. 8th, 2009 10:52 pmFox and I are still awake this late, but it's because we had a LOONGG nap this afternoon.
This morning we were settled down to breakfast and our only plan was a long walk before the day was too hot, but Tomu called from work to ask that I bring a new shirt because the one he was wearing tore, and mom called to mention she had left her purse while staying with us this weekend.
So, we drove 30 minutes away to Tomu's work to give him a new shirt, drove to my mother's to give her her purse, stayed to eat lunch with her as well. By then, Fox was going stir crazy to use a bit of energy but it was very hot outside, so I took him to an indoor bounce center ($8 for 2 hours is a deal). After chasing other kids and jumping all that time, we stopped for sno-cones, then came home - where we crashed onto the bed in our undies under the nice, cool fan. Until 7 pm when Tomu came home. And I felt like comfort food so I made chicken a'la king as well.
It was a nice day. Fox is now standing in front of me dancing in his underwear. We watched "Billy Elliot" yesterday and he has been dancing constantly ever since. Maybe I will sign him up for both karate and ballet for the summer.
Methinks I am not a normal mom, but we have fun ;)
