More Star Trek XI stuff...

First, I only just stumbled upon this article, but Alan Kistler does a great job of laying out the differences between Star Trek TOS and the reboot film. I think the only thing that would be a bit off from his calculations is Kirk's birthdate in Reboot.

This is helpful, because trying to sort out the two timelines for fics I am writing is driving me batty. Plus, last week I made the mistake of going to Half Price books and wiping out their Star Trek novels, some newer but many old (I recommend The Vulcan Academy Murders and The Pandora Principle for lots of cool Vulcan stuff ;)

I think I will either have to cut some elements of Spock Prime's past just because I am still trying to figure them out. Mainly where his relationship with Saavik and Alexandra, because the latter, and the human children she adopted with Spock, seem to just not exist anywhere else in cannon.

The only problem with getting sucked into a long established cannon, even one that is changing to an alternate timeline, is that there is soo darn much to catch up on for writing.

Maybe I'll do a bit of fanart while I continue to stumble through my fanfiction for now.
