Why does life always kick you when you are down?

I still can't believe that Dad is gone. I keep crying over the silliest things, and I can't seem to stop...

Then today, it ends up that I managed not to consolidate one of my many student loans when I thought I had consolidated them all 2 years ago. It defaulted, and 15% of my wages are being garnished. The only way to end the garnishment is to pay an additional $200 on top of the $500 already being taken out - FOR 9 MONTHS!!! We have no savings and losing this much money is just a kick in the teeth. AUUUGHHH! Did you know the government or the loan company is not required to notify you in any way before doing this?? And there are no other options?

And, our car insurance company has just told us we are high risk - due to 4 accidents (only 1 involved another car) and refusing to cover us anymore. We never even had accidents for years before these recent ones. More AUUGHHH!

I feel like running away. To a nice sanitarium with padded walls. Really. Give me a break, Life!

I'm very sorry that you've got things piling up on you right now. Neither student loan agencies nor insurance companies are very good about meeting the needs of the people they're "serving," are they -- it's all about the bottom line. (I remember when my parents got in a string of wrecks over the course of a few months -- all of which were caused by other drivers involved -- and got dropped by their insurance. They found coverage with another company.)
