Dad was out of the hospital Saturday, and went back in again today. I spent the last 2 nights with them, and have come to realize just how hellish things have become for my mom. My dad's mind is just... gone now most of the time. I don't know what's going to happen...

We have been prepared for Dad's body to fail for many years now - we never considered what would happen if his body was healthy but his mind was not. Things are...bad now and not likely to get better. Mom needs a break too.

I love my Papa, but maybe things should have ended a long time ago...
