My Papa is gone now...

Dad died earlier this afternoon. None of us realized what was happening until it was too late - his lungs filled with fluid. In typical hospital fashion, no one comes out and tells us Dad is dying until 20 minutes before the fact, so my sister and I both went to work and had to try to rush there through traffic. We were both a few minutes too late to tell him goodbye. Mom was there alone.

He went really easily and peacefully. I think he realized things were never going to get better and chose to go. My sister was supposed to find a nursing home for him that day, and he and Mom would have hated that.

It still doesn't seem real. How can he be gone?

How do I explain to Fox? God, I'm crying again.
