The execution of Nicolas Berg should take precedence over the humiliation of Iraqi soldiers in our care. Yes, the latter was wrong and makes our nation look bad, but the former was absolutely horrific.
No family should have to see video of their son/brother slowly hacked to death as he screams. CNN and other news reports are doing a grave diservice by simply claiming the young man was "beheaded". No one should die the way he did...
I watched a commentater ask "Why aren't the Muslims who oppose these actions doing something?" Duh! Because they're frightened the US will pull out and leave it's supporters to be persecuted and killed - just like we did during the Vietnam War. I really can't blame them either.
Send healing thoughts/prayers to the Berg family as well...
