finally home...
Well, we all made it back from A-Kon alive, but sick as dogs - even the baby. I guess it was ineveitable after being exposed to thousands of people and eating a strictly junk food diet except for a few Yakisoba bowls at Samurai Sam's. Our whole family is currently feverish, coughing and just wanting to die...
So, of course my 8 year old niece is staying with us for a week ;) Perfect timing, right
A-Kon was fun but the hotel was NOT really equipped for the # of fans that attended. Viewing rooms were great, but panel rooms SUCKED (I was shut out of the Yaoi panel for the first time EVER because they only let 100 people in. Hell, I remember times we put more yaoi fans than that in one hotel room to watch Yaoi porn *sniffle*)
Also, the room used for concerts was huge but it was never even close to capacity except for the cosplay. Some type of fire code thing I guess...
I did get to see part of the Do as Infinity performance and Camino - whose performance put Fox to sleep. Yes, I'm a bad mommy who had my kid out at 1am for the concert. Bite me, concerned staffers who kept coming up to me and commenting "Shouldn't he be in bed?" He'd slept for 5 hours straight earlier that evening and he's MY kid.
Even met another mommy bf'ing in the ladies room which was nice - we were both too scared to "whip 'em out" in front of fanboys who had likely never even seen REAL boobs. Could'a scarred them for life ;)
Getting up and down elevators with a stroller was a b*tch too. Actually had one lady trample over my child and STEP on him and his stroller in order to get into the elevator 2 seconds ahead of us. DH REALLY wanted to punch her but I wouldn't let him.
Dressed Fox in a little Japanese festival outfit with orange cat ears that JessiGoddess made and a cat tail which he kept sucking on. He was soo CUTE!!! Will post piccies as soon as I get them back from Snapfish...
Must go crawl into bed now until my coughing/sneezing wakes ds, dh, or both...
