Did a LONG lj update late last night but it didn't post and I'm too lazy to rewrite it all now :(
Had to do with people who are offended by my daring to breastfeed in public even though I do so rather discreetly. I can't believe how uptight some people are and NO I'm not going to breastfeed my ds in a dirty toilet stall so I don't bother you by doing something totally natural, cause legally I don't HAVE to. You can leave the restaurant and NO, 7 months is NOT too old for a baby to still be breastfeeding and I don't think it's disgusting at all! AAP recommends a MINIMUM of 12 months and WHO recommends 2 years so I'm not doing anything wrong.
Don't you hate it when people talk right next to you in a store under the assumption you can't hear? The world has so many idiots in it, and they just keep breeding and formula feeding ;)
Not that I think there's anything wrong with ff'ing - some people have to and I supplement sometimes. It's the fact that most people who I've met who CHOOSE to do so, make that choice because they consider bf'ing "gross" - How can women who are so young be so uptight? How did they ever manage to get pregnant in the first place, I wonder?
Still packing. We will never be ready to move by Saturday. I am VERY stressed which is probably why yesterday's incident left me really PO'd. Had a debate over circumcision with my aunt and uncle yesterday as well in which I didn't manage to educate them at all, cause they weren't willing to listen. I don't know why I bother. I was accused of lletting "the internet" raise my child - um, no - and I'm smart enough not to believe everything I hear online and research it independently - A lot of people don't bother to research the choices they make for the life they are responsible for, but I do.
But I did convince two other expectant moms to leave their little boys natural recently, so I guess being treated like a "hippie freak" is worth it sometimes. Maybe I'll meet more open minded families now that we're moving to a large city. There's even a La Leche League there!!!
Got a Ameda breast pump to use last week - it's soo great and will keep me comfortable during my lunch and conference periods soon.
