Father in law has been moved out of CCU and into a private hospital room. Now I feel like we can relax and stop driving to visit every night!

Sister in law is out of town, so 6 year old Nephew is staying with us. Every now and then I regret that Fox doesn't have a sibling and I think we should have had two kids close together in age - then he spends time with his cousin.

Ethan is a sweet kid, but he isn't MY kid, which means there are things he does I find annoying, and I get tired of all the racket they make together. Don't even ask was Fox's room looks like at the moment and it was CLEAN last night! Man, they ADORE each other though, I guess because they are both only children. It's only this year that Fox has stopped claiming Ethan is his brother and now recognizes him as "cousin".

I had cousins my own age, but we always hated each other and fought like cats and dogs.  These boys will do anything to be together. It's fun to take them in public together though because they really do look like brothers. People always ask if they are twins.

Going swimming tonight and picking blueberries at a farm tomorrow.

It sounds like the perfect relationship. If they were actually brothers, they might have ended up not being so close. I sometimes think not being in another person's space all the time makes you enjoy the time spent with them even more.

They see each other once or twice a month, and that seems to be the perfect amount of time.

I think SIL wanted me to offer to babysit the whole summer, but that was not gonna happen. They'd make me crazy !

I'm an only. I don't think I would have done well with a sib, but I'm still in touch with my 'favorite' cousin. Just grit your teeth and remember, he's got to go home sometime or other. *g* Then get Fox to help you clean up the mess.

I think I'll make them clean up the mess now, and use lunch at McDonald's as bribery ;)

My only sister is 14 years older so I just spent a lot of my childhood playing alone.

At least Fox has someone to spar with at the moment. Although if I hear one more "He's NOT sharing!!" I'm gonna lock all the toys in a closet. Seriously :P

My Mom had a way to handle that one. When kids in her class, or me and my cousin, wouldn't share, we lost the toy. She'd take it way and we couldn't have it back until the next morning. I really worked well with us. About two or three toys gone and that was it. Good luck.

I've taken up a remote control car for that reason. For some reason they had 2 controllers for it and there was lots of "Tell him not to control the CAARRRR!!!". It was making me crazy so it's on the top shelf in the closet ;)

Oh that is good news! And Go Fox and Ethan! Revel in your young boyness! And then maybe clean up a bit so mockingbirdq doesn't fall over in a heap ...

I'm ready to fall over anyway. They kept popping out of bed, turning on the lights and playing. Around midnight I had to finally go in and roar all kinds of threats for them to get to sleep. I even set up the old baby monitor so I could hear what they were up to.

I'd forgotten what it was like not to get enough sleep at night ;)
