Goddess_Jessie tagged me last week but I'm only just getting to it, Sorry...

Write three facts, two quirks, and two habits about you, then tag 8 people to do it too.
1)My parents were in their 40's when I was born and thought they couldn't have anymore children when I was born. My mother was advised to abort me.
2)My only sister is nearly 14 years older than me and we are NOT close at all. I see her abound 4 times a year and she lives 2 blocks away.
3)I grew up in the port city of Houston in a poverty stricken apartment complex full of immigrant families, mainly Mexican and Vietnamese. I believe this is the reason I adore my immigrant students now.

2 quirks:
1)I'm a huge comic book geek and have been since I used to visit a nearby comic shop at age 7. This means I was used to being the only female in a group of nerdy guys at all times ;)
2)I have had crushes on 3 different girls and 5 guys in my entire life. All the gals were tall with muscled arms, and all the guys were wonderful nerds. However when any of those crushes responded in a positive manner I ran like hell ;)

2 habits:
1)Every night I read for 20 minutes before falling asleep.
2)As he falls asleep I always brush Fox's hair back off his forehead, 'cause my mom always did that to me when I was small :)

Just wanted to link this because I think it is absolutely ridiculous.

First of all, I think that no dress codes should be able to specify hairstyles or hair length in girls or boys. It should be up to their parents and unless the hairdo is so outrageous that it blocks other students' view of the chalkboard or something similar, it's none of the school district's business. This district's dress code is so strict that even Fox wouldn't be allowed to enroll. Oh, and it my son wanted to wear a dress to school, I would let him. *&%@!# the dress code.

Also, the school district wants more proof that many native tribes consider long hair sacred for men? What kind of rock have they been living under? I only had one Native American history course in college and it was one of the first cultural traditions discussed. Do the administrators' not understand what "oral tradition" means that there is no religous writing that specifically dictates this?

It sounds like the parents will be taking this to court, but here is the address to contact the school district.

Needville Independent School District

Post Office Box 412
Needville, Texas 77461
Phone: (979)-793-4308

On a lighter note, doesn't his hair look like a little Duo? What a cute kid!
